These ladies have been on the cover of a monthly addition to Journal Review for the last four months.  How about that?

Just one yard of fabric will make a whole cloth quilt for kids up to 8 years old. We need fun fabric, kid prints. This will brighten their day.

We are in need of volunteers, if you are interested, please call me. Everyone is welcome, anytime.  We have a lot of supplies for making Binkies, so come and join us in making items that go to 43 agencies in our county. This includes all the small town fire stations and sheriff's departments as well as the ones in Crawfordsville.

It's fun, it's a place to meet new and old friends, and it's a place to help kids in need of love or warm items to wear.  After agencies are covered in our county, all else goes to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. They seem to love our fleece blankets.

Our large pieces of Fur goes to the Wheeler Mission in Indianapolis for the Homeless. Bright colors too, it's all fake fur.

We are in need of new volunteers. We are in need of tote bags for the shelter and Women's Resource Center.  Fleece mittens, scarves and hats for all the agencies.  We have the fleece if you have the time. No sewing skills necessary as fleece blankets can be tied, rather than sewn.

If you can give just one hour a week or month, it would be appreciated. One hour can do so much for you as well as a child.

Thank you for listening!  Sincerely, Angela

We just got back from Georgia, taking over 500 blankets and quilts to a 93% under poverty level area.  What a sight to see! Over 400 kids lined up waiting to pick one for themselves. We also were able to take soap, shampoo, and a little bag of candy for each child.

My van was packed! We had to hold some bags on our laps to get them there. It was over 500 miles from Crawfordsville. The soap and shampoo came from our Holiday Inn. It's now Holiday Inn Express so they couldn't use it. They also gave us over 200 comforters and bed skirts, we shared with the Family Crisis Shelter and Fish (the linen closet), Fish also provides clothing and food for our area. When I started my chapter 9 years ago, I never dreamed it would become what it has today.  We owe it all to God for providing our needs in supplies to meet the needs of the children in our community and other states in need. I still love it!!  I like to sew every day if I can.
A new agency has been added to our list. The new Cancer Center by St. Clare Medical Center. They love the fleece blankets for those taking treatments. And need hats, fleece, crocheted or knitted with no turn up brim. They are very grateful our chapter is providing these items for them to give to patients. During  treatments they patients need warmth. Thank you for responding.

Our Volunteers:

Many people help us make binkies ... our oldest volunteer,
 Iva Anderson at age 98.
This is my dear Mother, she went home to see my Dad and brothers, & Jonny on March 7, 2008. My brother, David, passed away exactly one year after Mom. My husband Buford, helped deliver, picked up supplies donated, and supplied all clear plastic bags. Buford left us on November 9, 2010 after a very short bout with cancer,  very rare, very aggressive. He and David was very proud to be connected to our chapter.

to our youngest volunteer, Krystal Largent at age 9.

My youngest grand child; she will turn 10 on November 13, 2011.

Thank you everyone for all you do!
